This month I’m doing something exciting but scary: I am attending a writing conference! I feel prepared yet nervous. As a stereotypical introverted writer, the thought of going to an event in an unfamiliar area, surrounded by people I don’t know, is daunting. Especially considering I’m looking to add more writers and editors to my professional network.
But I’m doing it. I’m attending a professional conference and having a portion of my manuscript evaluated. Hopefully this will be the nudge I need to finally finish this last round of revisions and begin searching for a literary agent. While there’s not much to share right now, I recognize the importance of staying consistent and connected.
So what’s next on the horizon? First is the conference and applying any advice to my final revision. Then I will be tidying my professional materials, researching agencies, and start querying. I also hope to participate in NaNoWriMo again this year. Early next year I will be looking to start the CozyBookBabble podcast. By the summer of 2025 I will either have secured a publishing deal via an agent, or I will pursue self-publishing. Time, dedication, and fate will determine the path I take. Hopefully it won’t be much longer before I have more to share than these sporadic updates.
